I'm not a loyal fan of Korean dramas but I do from time to time watched and enjoyed them. One good thing about korean dramas is their sense of humor. I don't really watch dramas because of school and I don't have time to commit to them. Holidays are the only time for drama so I try to make sure I watched a good one that is not too long. (I can't stand those that are 100 episodes long) I made a list of the top 20 must watched korean dramas of all time. This time round, it is actually ranked. Hope you like it.
1) Full house (2004)
Genre Romance, Comedy - 16 episodes
Synopsis: This drama attempts to answer the question of whether two people -- a
famous actor and an ordinary woman -- can learn to love each other in a
marriage agreed upon only on paper. It also explores the meaning of the
family by presenting no matter how hard the present may seem, the world
is still a good place because of those who bring hopes into our lives
through their presence alone.
Why I like this? : Really funny. The is the very first korean drama that I watched and definitely the reason why I'm into all things korean. If you're gonna start watching a korean drama, watch this. I think the couple is really lovable. All the silly little things you will do when you're in love. I started to fall in love with the characters when I'm like into the 3rd episode or something. Definitely recommended.
Rating: 8/10
2) Dream high (2011)
Genre: Music, Romance, Comedy - 16 episodes
Synopsis: This is the story of youths becoming top global stars which could take place in the not-so-distant future.
You may have the looks, talent, personality and even a respectable
private life, but it's still tough to rise as a successful star. Here is
a group of youths who are still up for this daring challenge.
They all have a single weakness barring them becoming the ultimate top
star. The weaknesses wouldn't be an issue or an inconvenience to an
ordinary person, but they are detrimental to a pop star.
One girl sings superbly but her appearance is not the best to stand before the TV camera.
Another student has the looks and musical talent but has a distorted, prejudiced view of the world.
There are others who have amazing talent but an unsophisticated fashion sense.
Each of these students have managed to pass the exam and enter Kirin
Arts High School to begin headlong the challenge of becoming a top
superstar.
The characters maximize their unique talents and overcome their weaknesses.
They fall, trip and fail which only boosts their confidence.
The ridicule and scorn they are used to will one day turn into cheers and support.
The underdogs and the losers will fly up high and their story will be an inspiration to young viewers.
Why I like this?: I am really inspired by this korean drama. Young teenagers, living the dream and loving music. It really shows the passion of young people aspiring to be the best. Life is definitely full of ups and downs as portrayed. The actors are really lovable and energetic. If you a fan of music and dance, this is for you.
In comparison, I find Dream High 2 rather a failure. Though the cast for Dream High 2 are really attractive, the plot does not have the climax that Dream High brought out.
Rating: 9/10
3) Sassy girl, Chun Hyang (2005)
Genre: Comedy, romance, drama - 17 episodes

The story begins when Lee Mong-ryong is transferred from Seoul to a high school in Namwon, North Jeolla Province. Chun-hyang does her best to help Mong-ryong, her first love and the son of the Namwon Police Station chief, to enter a prestigious university. However, after meeting with Mong-ryong’s first love, Chae-rin, Mong-ryong’s love toward Chun-hyang is shattered, although Chun-hyang’s love remains unwavering. But as Chun-hyang shows no interest in him, his self-esteem is damaged profoundly. Byeon Hak-do is determined to make her love him.
Why I like this?: How an old legend is modernized and portrayed as college students and moving on to adult life. I love how the trouble maker boy meets the smart and studious girl. Love how romance can be action packed, full of surprises.
Rating: 8/10
4) You're beautiful (2009)

orphanage and Mi Nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this

would make it easier to look for their mother.
Why I like this?: This is funny as hell. I always love drama with girls disguised as a guy. It brings so much fun to the plot. The characters are unique in their own way. Gotta watch this if you love music!

Why?: Another drama on music! Jang geun seuk is the reason I watched it. Nice music and stuff. I feel that if they get a cuter actress, the drama will be perfect.
Rating 7/10

Why? I love coffee! Another girl disguised as a boy drama. It's really funny to watch. However, I find that it gets boring towards the end.
By the way one of the actors is deceased. RIP.
Rating: 7/10
10)Beethoven Virus (2008)
Genre: Music, Romance, Comedy - 18 episodes
Synopsis: Kang Gun Woo is a world renowned orchestra maestro who is a
perfectionist in his work. He is not an easy person to work with and is
feared by all his players. By chance, he comes across Du Ru Mi, a
violinist, and a young cop who has the same name as his and discovers
that even without formal training, the young Kang is a music genius. The
three soon get tangled in a love triangle.
Why?: I love the orchestra. The idea of getting people from nationwide to form an orchestra is totally cool. The actress is really pretty. I love how the drama started off and procceed but I don't really like how it ended. Rather abrupt. Only when the dram was about to end then the orchestra started working together. I was hoping for more.
Nonetheless, a great drama. You can also see how Jang Geun Seuk face is before it becomes flawless.
